FCTA TO COMMISSION COMPLETED PROJECTS SOON
The FCT Administration is putting finishing touches to commission several Multi-Billion-Naira projects completed within the Federal Capital Territory.
FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (CON) made this disclosure during the Bi-Weekly FCT Operations Briefing Session in Gwarinpa I District, Abuja on Monday.
The Minister said some of these completed projects to be commissioned include the Phases III & IV Water Treatment Plants (20,000m3/hr) at the Lower Usuma Dam and construction work on the Lower Usuma Dam – Gurara Dam Road project.
Senator Mohammed further disclosed that the completed project to also be commissioned is the construction of Flyover Bridge and other channelization works at the Mogadishu Cantonment/Sunrise Hills Estate.
According to him, the rehabilitation and expansion of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway (Airport Road) Lot II from the Abuja City Gate to Lugbe, and Murtala Muhammad Expressway (Kubwa Road) Lot II from Villa Roundabout to Civil Service Institute are also been prepared for commissioning.
He revealed that another gigantic project for commissioning is the provision of engineering infrastructure to Phase II Addendum Contract to complementary engineering infrastructure facilities to the Federal Capital City (Interchange at Arterial Road N5/Ring Road II Junction).
Senator Mohammed assured that his Administration would soon roll out the final engineering designs of all outstanding Districts in Phases II & III that are at various stages of completion.
The Minister remarked that final engineering designs of the eight districts under the Land Swap Scheme are in progress with two of the developers M/s Urban Shelter and M/s Ridley Group having completed design, checked and approved; adding that these are ready for ground breaking.
“There is on-going work on the provision of roads and engineering infrastructure to new layout and Diplomatic Area as Phase II contract of the Guzape Lot II District Infrastructure,” he added.
Senator Mohammed expressed the commitment of his Administration to continually translate the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan into reality by commissioning more projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the residents.
