Pwajok’s Body Arrives Abuja, Leaves for Jos
The remains of the late Senator Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok who died in an Indian hospital following complications from hepatocellular carcinoma (a type of cancer), arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday aboard an Emirates Airline plane.
A source at the airport said the body was received by the former Governor of Plateau State and senator representing Plateau North senatorial district, Senator Jonah David Jang, and his other colleagues in the Senate, Joshua Dariye and Jeremiah Useni.
All the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the House of Representatives from the state were also there with their PDP counterparts in the state House of Assembly. The state chairman of the party was also at the airport.
The source said Pwajok’s family members and friends also thronged the international wing of the airport to receive the corpse midst tears and emotion.
Prayers were offered at the airport before the body left for Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The family was yet to announce the date of the burial arrangement for the late senator, who contested the April 11 gubernatorial election under the platform of the PDP.
He died on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 49.
