We Have No Faction, Abuja PMAN Declares
It seems the continue war at the national level of the PMAN is about to hit Abuja chapter of the association as Julietta and Pretty Okafor who are alleged to be parading themselves as the PMAN national president and caretaker committee in Abuja have constituted an interim committee to dissolve the legally contsititued existing PMAN executive in Abuja.
According to the incumbent Governor, Collins Adeyemi, he called on all registered members and intending members of PMAN to steer clear and heed not to the attempt to create a faction in the state chapters by imposters who want to truncate the existing peace that the FCT has been having as the law will not spare anyone.
He also pointed out that the federal government of Nigeria, through the ministry of labour and productivity has dissolved any leadership of PMAN at the national level therefore anyone found parading as the union’s president or does so at his / her own peril while those who affiliate themselves with such a move will be considered as participating in anti-Union activities.
“We had a meeting of late with the five factions of the association and they were advised to step down to set up an interim committee to conduct a new national election. While 4 of the factions agreed, Pretty Okafor went out of the meeting and continues to present himself as the national president of the association. The FCT chapter and all other chapters of PMAN remain intact and according to union constitution cannot be dissolved by a president but duly by tenure expiration of 4years, renewable through election. I want members to be informed that a suit has been initiated on Julietta and Pretty Okafor both parties currently trying to destroy and factionalise our chapter. We are all expected to be at the Industrial Court on Gimbiya Street Area 11 today morning by 9AM for the hearing. Our chapter must be saved. We should not allow the good efforts we have made to be usurped by a traitor amongst us and an impostor from Lagos.” The president stressed.
Speaking further is the secretary, Vincent Omoko who also frowned at the illegality being perpetrated by the alleged national president.
He said they just want to disrupt the existing peace that the union has been enjoying since its inception as the executive of the Federal Capital Territory.
