Abuja natives pledge support for new FCT minister

by Daily Trust

Natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the auspices of the Original Inhabitants Development Association of Abuja (OIDA) have appealed to the new FCT minster, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Bello, to involve them in his administration.

OIDA President, Pastor Jeji Danladi, while congratulating Bello on his appointment reiterated the readiness of Abuja natives to support him in his bid to reposition the territory.
“We assure him that we are going to totally support his administration,” Danladi told our reporter during a telephone interview yesterday.
He also appealed to the new minister to focus on developing the natives’ ancestral homes and monuments and look into land allocations in the territory.
“We all know that this government is a listening government. We will be grateful if the minister would grant the group audience,” he said.
He said it became necessary for the group to deliberate with the minister on issues affecting them in order to ensure the development of the territory.
Also, another Abuja native, Barrister Musa Salihu, has expressed hope that the new minister would be able to drive the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari in the territory.
Salihu, a delegate to the last national conference who described the minister as highly principled, said he should focus on developing satellite towns in the territory.
He said hitherto government had done nothing in the satellite towns.
“We have about six satellite towns and they have been highly underdeveloped,” he said and called for development efforts in the rural areas.
