The three are doing well and well known all over the world, especially in movie circles and are making money for different stakeholders. Now, check out two more cities in America and India – Silicon Valley and Bangalore.
Silicon Valley is in the southern region of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. However, it is not the location of Silicon Valley that brought international acclaim to the city. It is rather what happens there. Silicon Valley is the high tech headquarters of the United States, nay; the world.
Many businesses known for information technology innovation are located in the Silicon Valley. In fact, many technology innovation businesses were born in the Valley. Many of such firms have become global names.
India, adapting the Silicon Valley evolution, encouraged the concentration of its technology firms in Bangalore. Many Indians that had gained experience in Silicon Valley relocated to Bangalore.
Today, Bangalore is almost the headquarters of global software industry and through such ventures, India now earns much more from information technology than Nigeria earns from oil and gas.
To complete the triumvirate, Nigeria also sought to establish its own Silicon Valley. This was the Abuja Technology Village conceived towards the end of the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Nigeria’s vision for a technology village was buoyed by the success of the telecommunication industry that had been dubbed the GSM revolution.
